Open Question: Smart Phone with a prepaid plan?
My friend got a new AT&T cell phone and he has a older windows mobile cell phone he is willing to sell to me for $35.00
I currently have no cell phone, but have a old prepaid GoPhone from AT&T. Is it possible for me just to switch the sim cards and use the new Windows Mobile Smart Phone as a GoPhone instead?
If not, what are my other options? I know Boost Mobile uses sim cards and even has a $60.00 unlimited talk, text and web service, could I use this AT&T Windows Mobile Smart Phone with Boost Mobile by switching out the sim cards?
I know a lot of cell phone providers want a 2 year contract when you buy a new phone, since I’d already have one, would it be possible for me to just start a new service through AT&T, would they still want a deposit on the account?
Any thoughts, ideas or experiences are helpful.

i’m not talking about the cells themselves but more what the provider charges you for what services you use. I’m losing my blood sucking account with rogers that set me back $150/month for two phones with limited day time useage and lots of text. and those extra bucks you have to pay to get earlier free night time air time are rediculous. i’ve seen virgin, Bell aliant (I live on the east coast) telus around here. unless rogers has sweetened their deal in the last three years i’ve had this contract, i’m just no interested in them. My main useage would be unlimited text and some daytime minutes.
