Open Question: Hello Kitty Cell Phones?
I want to purchase a Hello Kitty cell phone on ebay.
But I was wondering how the internet was? I don’t want to pay for internet if it isn’t any good, because I don’t use internet on my phone that much anyway, and can just use my laptop.
Also I was wondering how the overall quality of the phones are? I am having it shipped from far away, so I want to make sure I’m getting a reasonable phone. I know a Hello Kitty phone isn’t any smart phone or anything, but I just want a phone that has good quality overall for calling, texting, etc.
Also do I just take the phone to my local T-Mobile store once I get it in the mail and have it activated and choose my plan?
Once I get this phone I want to keep it for a good long period of time, so I just want to be sure in making this purchase.
Thanks.
Open Question: Gift of Cellphone from biological dad: who pays to use it?
My daughter recieved a cell phone (Fido, pay as you go) from her “biological” father and her Aunt (his sister, and ONLY other relative on that side) for a gift for Christmas 2007.
Since that time, ONCE a MONTH, “he” will give her a card to put into the phone with $10 or $20 dollars on it. Now if you are all familiar with cell phones, the “pay as you go” cards are normally .35cents a minute.
Well……….goes really really fast. He gets her all excited and then she finds out there are NO minutes or time for her to talk to her friends??
What kind of a gift is that? Here darling, I bought you a bike, but you have no wheels, or I bought you an Xbox but no games, I bought you a flash light for camping, but no batteries, etc. I just don’t get it! How does someone , anyone? give a child of age 12 a cell phone that she can’t use for her own purposes?? It is a constant struggle and argument that she “wines” about “NO minutes”, but that is NOT my responsibility. I did not get her the phone.
My daughter is now 14 and doesn’t even return his phone calls when he phone our house number. He has been cautioned to stay off our property by police for certain instances, AS WELL, not to phone our house. (Police thought since he has a cell phone for her, he can use that. this way there is NO conversation with us)
She visits with him maybe once a month, on his request and when they do, he drops her at the movies with a friend or the mall . What is that “quality time”?
Ya HELLO………..a dead beat dad that doesn’t even pay child support. OR will give money for Christmas and say, oh ya “give it to you when I see you next time”…………….(and she doesn’t get it)
Anyhow……..put it this way, the biological dad is a frequent drug user, always has been, and that is why I chose NOT to have a relationship with him. I chose to be a single parent and quite proud of being successful at this wonderful position as a “mom” and now a friend.
Because of this rediculous situation, I bought her a cool cell phone that has mega minutes and unlimited texting. The ONLY condidtion is that she does NOT use it to call her biological father or her Aunt. Why should I pay for a gift he gave her??
I feel that if they bought her a phone , they should supply her with minutes to her, or even text. If you are gonna spend 20 bucks for a few wee calls (that are long distance, so more than .35cents a minute) or would you rather just pay a set fee of maybe 25 or 30 bucks for the month??? Am I being silly or unrealistic? If this was for “communicating” they should pay >>??
Ok here is the question: Who should pay for the “gifted” phone???
Me the mom with no child support, her biological dad, her Aunt, or ??
How do I solve this situation with the biological people in her world politely. They have been told numerous, numerous times to call the “cell” and they continue to the house phone. They know they are not to call the house phone, and they continue to leave messages.
Are they really that stingy??
Help me out and maybe my daughter will read this and the arguments will be over!! thanks
Resolved Question: Fun Question! How would you decorate baby’s room around this painting?
First off, I would like to apologize for the quality, I took this picture with a cell phone, it was my only way. Also, keep in mind the colors are a bit brighter in real life. Think *lemon* yellow for background… it’s bright.
This painting hung in my grandmother’s room all of my life, and I was very fond of it as a little girl. It has been given to me and I am pregnant with my first baby, a little girl. I would love to decorate her room around this painting, but realize it is a bit outdated, and it may be a bit of a challenge to make it feel just right…
My vision so far is cream colored walls with sunflower stencil border around the room…
How would you do it? What colors? What color bedding? Curtains?
Would you use this painting at all? (Remember: it’s sentimental, but I’m not opposed to giving up if it won’t work.)
10 points for detailed, creative answer. And here is the painting!
